Speaking about the previous reblog got me remember a bit of my childhood, when I never missed the Discovery Channel documentary program although it aired quite late at night, especially for a kid of my age. My favorite themes are the history one and the outer space one. The latter made me wanted to be an astronaut for probably the first 11 years of my life, before I met physics and mathematics-science haha. The first sticks with me until now, but only as a hobby/interest, never been brought further because well, I got a whole different plan ahead beside probably, being a historian or some sort. I guess I didn’t find any who actually shares the same interest as me, especially regarding history, up until college. I heard this a lot more, and you’ve probably heard it too from your friends/acquaintances who doesn’t share the same interest as you:

Who gives a damn about history. They’re all dead anyway.

Too bad they can’t see beyond the numbers a.k.a the important dates they have to memorize just for the upcoming history exam. Beyond that, there’s a STORY, story about something that had actually happened in real life, in our life, in the past time, which could be both directly and indirectly influence our present life today. I appreciate those who have the “live for today” motto, but I give my respect for those who look beyond it, and learned from the past.

Well then, to make boring story short, I finally met some people who shares the same interest, and it’s actually quite overwhelmingly awesome because I didn’t really have high expectation to meet those kinds of people in real life. So that is one prove that no matter how long it took, you’ll always meet and end up with the ones you belong too, as long as you stay who you are.
